RFS Lower School Awarded Green School Sustainability Award Again!

In October 2019, Ramallah Friends Lower School was awarded the Green School Sustainability Award by Ramallah Municipality for the third consecutive year.

RFS students Zeina Awad and Kareem Al-Roz were presented the Best Student Actor award as part of the Environmental Play competition, and RFS teacher Nermeen Dabbas was granted second place for the Best Teacher award for her work on the program.

Rooted from our Quaker testimony of Stewardship, the RFS Environmental Awareness Program started inside the KG classrooms years ago under the motto “Reduce- Reuse- Recycle” and was later adopted and widened by Ramallah Municipality as an annual competition between all Ramallah public and private schools.

The Lower School has won the “Green School Award” twice as the school healthiest and friendliest to the environment. In 2017, the Municipality established the “Sustainability Award” for RFS’ continued efforts as a healthy campus that is green and friendly to the environment.

The Sustainability Award is given only to a few schools who have been awarded the Green School Award more than once.

At RFS, environmental stewardship remains one of our school values and Quaker testimonies. We believe in the responsible use and protection of the natural environment through conservation and sustainable practices.
