Ramallah Friends School is grateful and thanks the local community for sponsoring and partnering with us in celebrating our 150th anniversary of offering quality Quaker education to Palestinian youth in the West Bank towns of Ramallah and El Bireh.
Grateful thanks to members of the local community, including staff, parents, students, F/friends, and alumni who had all come together in one way or another during 2019 to join in celebrating several 150th events.
The events included Field Day, which brought together the whole school community together in one location for the first time in decades to celebrate students and teachers achievements for the academic year of 2018-2019. Burial of the Time Capsule, which is not to be dug up again until the School celebrates its 175th anniversary in the year 2044. And inauguration of the School's first museum and new classroom floor. Ending with the 150th Gala Dinner, aimed at supporting the student financial aid fund, RFS looks forward to celebrating another 150 years of Realizing Dreams, Fulfilling Dreams, and Sharing Hope.
The 150th Forestation Campaign was not concluded as RFS is committed to environmental sustainability through its regular tree-planting initiatives. As part of its ongoing efforts, the RFS had launched the 150th Forestation Campaign, aiming to plant approximately 300 trees and shrubs across both campuses. This initiative was designed in 2019 to enhance the green spaces on campus, contributing to a healthier and more eco-friendly environment. By engaging in such activities, the RFS demonstrates its dedication to environmental stewardship and the promotion of biodiversity.
