RFS is committed to maintaining the development and improvement of all school facilities and services projects that ensure a safe, functional, and inspiring learning environment. While students and staff were on their well-deserved Christmas holiday, a lot of work was being done on campus. We are excited to update you on what we've been working on during the Christmas break to maintain our facilities and address pressing needs in both campuses.
1. Resurfacing of the Lower Campus old asphalt yards and preparing the underground infrastructure to accommodate the electricity and network cables and connections. The scope of work included: removing the old asphalt and replacing it with interlocking concrete pavers, installing manholes and pipes to connect all school buildings, and enabling the relocation of overhead electricity and network cables underground in a later phase.
2. Rehabilitation of the ground floor at the Admin Building in the Lower Campus. The scope of work included: complete renovation of the electricity and network systems, including new cables, sockets, lighting, fire alarms and boards. And retiling of some offices, false ceiling installation, and painting for all walls and ceilings.
3. Maintenance and rehabilitation of the Multipurpose Hall at the Upper Campus. The scope of work comprised the following: servicing and maintenance of the air conditioning system, roof insulation works, repairs to the rainwater drainage channels surrounding the hall walls, and the installation of a fire alarm system in the KG building.
5. The new Sports Hall project at the Lower Campus is progressing as planned. Excavation work has been completed, the well is nearly finished, and the footings for the hall are in place. The steel has been ordered and is expected to arrive within 6 to 8 weeks.
As part of ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity and streamline communication, several critical IT upgrades were implemented to modernize and improve the school's technological infrastructure.
1. Installed a new Local Area Network (LAN) in the administration building, featuring Ethernet nodes and power supply at each workstation.
2. Upgraded outdated 10/100 Mbps switches to PoE-enabled 10/100/1000 Mbps switches.
3. Replaced the analog telephone system with a modern digital system, including PBX and compatible digital phones.
4. Reorganized and optimized the main network cabinet for improved accessibility and efficiency.
By addressing critical maintenance and development needs outside of the regular school schedule, RFS continues to enhance its facilities while minimizing disruptions to learning. These efforts not only preserve the school's infrastructure but also set the stage for future growth.
