PalMUN - The Beginning

IT ALL STARTED WHEN...

Ramallah Friends School's student council first heard about the Model United Nations in 2006. The council was so infatuated with the concept and the impact MUN could have on the Palestinian society and started researching about MUN vigorously in the hopes of implementing one at their own school.  After learning about the MUN procedure and rules, the council started training fellow students, preparing them to attend conferences, locally and internationally; which successfully happened in 2009, in which the first MUN program was held. Yet this was only the seed. After the success of the first conference, students went on to attend multiple international conferences throughout the years. The amount of valuable experience the delegates have gained in the international conferences was massive. With that in mind, it was realized that the importance of MUN was too big to not share. As a result, the very first PalMUN conference was held in 2o11; it was a breakthrough for not only our school but for Palestine as a whole; it was the first MUN conference that accommodated students from all around Palestine. Season after season, PalMUN kept on going strong, turning the tables to new directions as it goes.
