Foundation for Tomorrow

Expanding Education and Building Futures

Executive Summary

RFS is building on a unique, time-limited strategic effort to continue expanding the learning and educational opportunities in Palestine. The goal is to purchase land directly opposite the Upper Campus School — an exceptional opportunity for growth that will allow RFS to expand its opportunities in Palestine.

For 155 years, RFS has stood as a beacon of high-quality education in Ramallah, serving as an educational gem in Palestine. Generous donations over the past thirty years, including those through American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) estimated around $9,000,000, have enabled RFS to greatly expand school infrastructure, including new middle school facilities, a new kindergarten building, and a multipurpose hall. This expansion today sets the stage for establishing a much-needed community college, a bridge between secondary education and higher education for Palestinians.

Vision

In the face of unprecedented challenges, including the ongoing genocide in Gaza, settler violence, Israeli incursions in the West Bank, and a struggling economy, we continue to dream and build for a better tomorrow. The resilience of our community has always been a source of strength. Despite our adversity, our vision remains clear: to provide every student with the education and opportunities they deserve.

Mission

The Foundation for Tomorrow is a multi-year initiative dedicated to preparing our students with the education and skills they need to succeed in the evolving job market and become the leaders of tomorrow's economy.

“This project is about ensuring that, no matter the hardships, we continue to empower the next generation of leaders who will shape Palestine's future. Education is our beacon of hope; with your support, we can make these dreams a reality"

– Rania Maayeh, Head of School

The Goals

The Foundation for Tomorrow project aims to equip Palestinian students in the West Bank with the essential skills needed to thrive in the 21st century.

Focusing on health, social development, hospitality, and economic empowerment, our initiative will provide career-focused programs, including expanding the IB program to include the IB Career Path and establishing a new community college.

Students will thereby gain the technical and vocational training required to succeed in today’s competitive job market while contributing to sustainable regional growth.

Support a Worthy Cause

As a non-profit institution, Ramallah Friends School relies on charitable contributions to fund our student financial aid program, teacher salaries, educational projects, and the maintenance of school facilities. Without this support, we would simply not be able to meet budgetary demands or alleviate growing financial insecurities. Dependence on the donor community is high as a result of economic constraints on parents dealing with military occupation and an ongoing economic crisis.

Your help will make a positive difference in the lives of Palestinian students by keeping educational opportunities at the Friends School available to all. Since 1869, the Ramallah Friends School has been serving the Palestinian community by providing high academic standards, while advocating key Quaker principals of tolerance, diversity, and respect. We believe that no child should be denied access to education due to an inability to pay.
