RFS Students Awarded with Buddies without Borders Forum

“Teens changing the world" is the motto of Global Educations Destinations. Through
“Buddies Without Borders Online Forums" (BWB), they help teens to build understanding and
friendships across racial and cultural borders as equal global citizens.

The BWB Forums are a month-long, web-based collaboration and competition project
attended by students aged 12 - 18 around the world. The Forums are held 3-5 times a year.
Around 3-5 representatives from each country are selected to meet weekly online. Students are
grouped as equal global citizens into teams, assigned a country as their joint identity, and
together throughout the month they debate and co-author recommendation papers to
solve a predefined Sustainable Development Goals-related challenge.

At the “Zero Hunger Zero Waste” Forum held from Nov.5 to -Dec.18 th of 2022, RFS students Tala Salameh (ninth grade) and Milar Zaghal (tenth grade) participated and were awarded the Pioneer Award and Nominee. RFS participation was initiated by the Middle School library.

Milar Zaghal won the Pioneer Award and scholarship to launch a BWB Club at RFS as co-
President together with Tala Salameh. Furthermore, each student won a seat for the school’s team
to be represented in the next Forum “Happy Teens: Website Design Challenge”.

Congratulations on your hard work, Milar and Tala!
